Adenium....
There has not much going on in the garden, it's primarily the reason why I had not posted much about it. For weeks and weeks, we have not had much rain in the island. It has been really hot and sunny on daily basis and we have to water the plants so much. Many of the plants are not doing too well under too much sun. I put this one Adenium plant away from the area that has too much sun exposure. This plant is having plenty of flowers, looking really beautiful!

A Wet Day...
It's a miserable wet day today. It began right before 6AM, before Miss K even woke up. It rained rather heavily when I walked her in the dark across the street to the lobby hotel to meet her school friends who were competing in a swim meet this weekend at around 6AM. It rained on and off throughout the day. I took some pictures when the rained stopped for a while. I love water drops on the leaves of Adenium. They always make good pictures...

Brings Out The Joy...
I have some Adenium plants that survive out of that many more that I planted. I don't mind some ten plants that I have, although sometimes they are a bit much as each rather needs individual care and at times it can be quite tricky as I am not quite sure what to do. The one in the picture above is one of those that are doing very well. The caudex shape is very nice, the leaves are plenty and the flowers are blossoming. Simply a beautiful thing to have in the garden.

Playing With Pop Color...
.... and that's the result. Thanks to Adobe! I don't think I like that picture that much, I need to find different ones to experiment.

Bigger Adenium ....
My Adenium plants, about 11 of them, if I am not mistaken, have grown bigger. Every now and then, I re-pot them to bigger containers to allow them to grow bigger. After they get bigger, I need bigger containers. This game goes on and on. I am a bit behind at this moment, the plant above is in need for bigger space, I have not gotten time to get go to the nursery and get some bigger pots.

Another Wednesday...
Lately, I have been able to go to bed early by anyone standard, that is around 10PM. It felt good that I rested enough. I was able to wake up fresh. But somehow in life, we could not avoid facing some issues that we all have to deal with. This time it came from faraway but in the form of an email. And more emails, back and forth, until it passed 11 PM and I basically was awake and could not fall asleep. By the time I went to bed, a decision was made. So in a way, it's good. What can be done was done. Always remember, there are worse things.
I found out today that a 12-year old daughter of my sister's colleague has been diagnosed having a 9-cm cyst. I can't possibly imagine the feeling of the parents. They are coming here to get second and third opinions from the doctors here. I have been asked, in a way, to become their liaison officer and I have agreed to that. I am reminded again, that when things appear to be bad, there are worse things and we can always try to be grateful with things we've got.
It's another Wednesday. The day started nicely, it was cool and pleasant. It got hotter during the day and it rained as the sun was setting. Yes, we got it all. Two of my Adenium plants are blooming, one has deep dark pink color and the other ones are white with pink in the edges. Looking lovely!

For Real...
I waited and waited for a long while for these adeniums to start flowering and when it finally happened, it happened. I should not even have been too anxious about it, but it I was eager to really see that all my time dedicated to look after them were really worth it. Seeing first flower is always exciting. Now, we enjoy plenty of them and they are quite a pretty sight. I know there are still more to come.... It is still a thrill!

Waiting No More!
The waiting is over. One Adenium flower has opened up and displayed its bright pink outstanding color. In less than an hour after shyly opening its petal, the flower completely expanded. Here we go!

Getting Ready ...
We have some Adenium Obesum plants at home. They are potted, so they are rather slow growing and having them really has been a learning experience for me. They need quite close attention, different than others that we have. After a long wait, I finally found a plant with some flowers getting ready to blossom. I am keeping my fingers crossed as some leaves are turning yellow.....

Adenium, After The Rain
Water from up above has been poured down so much lately. It has been raining a lot, probably nearly on daily basis. I would think this is a bit unusual for June-July period, but it happens. The above is one of Adeniums, soaking wet. Growing slowly but steadily, but we have no flowers yet.
