Delicious ending with Turkish Coffee Ice Cream. I am missing the food there right now wish could have some.

Gelato Rose, Givres, Wan Chai

We arrived back in Hongkong from Macau in the afternoon. We took along nearby area and tried to figure out what we wanted to have for dinner. We found this precious gem as we strolled along. It was unexpected and it was very close to dinner time, but we wanted to try anyway. We shared a two flavour gelato rose, Espresso and Pistachio.

Le Chine, Macau

Le Chine is located on 6th floor of the Eiffel tower. We just felt compelled to try, it is the only restaurant in the tower and we just had to experience dining there. They offered French - Chinese fusion dishes. The service was good, some of the food were great, but a couple were not really, including the noodles with lobster down below. .

Starting the evening with a drink called French Kiss. The restaurant brought us amuse bouche, which unfortunately I can't remember, but it can be seen down below after the drink. It was not explained by the server and when asked, it was still not clear what it was. they were quite nice and cold, it's some sort of sherbet.

Amuse Bouche

Crabmeat tartar

Crispy chicken, it's really crispy and worth the calories.

Braised bean curd

Sea Cucumber

Complimentary matcha cupcakes. (that's my guess of what they were, the serves did not and could not explain what they were)

Pineapple tart tatin with coconut ice cream. Definitely needs more ice cream, a lot more than presented. The balance of the flavor was of because of that.

Nana's Green Tea, Sapporo

I love matcha and I always want edto go to this place, but I was always accompanied by people who did not care about matcha and this place tended to be crowded every time we passed by. That afternoon, it happened that we passed by again and the place was rather quite and I had one person with me and he did not mind to go in and had something else but matcha. I got my preferred treat and so did he. All good.

Lunch At Fat Cow

I am pleased when we try a new place to have a meal and their food turn out to suit our taste well. This is one of those.  Fat Cow is about beef, so I chose Foie Gras and Wagyu beef (Fat Foa-gura don). DH chooses sushi, because he likes sushi and he does not want to eat much beef. Whatever.

Both of us picked their set lunch and the meal began with salad, miso soup and chawan sushi. I love the dressing of the salad and the soup, but there's not much love for their chawan sushi, just not my kind.

They also gave us a plate of momotaro sashimi salad (tomato salad) which was super delicious. The sliced tomatoes were fresh and sweet and the dressing was very nice and refreshing. I could have more of this.

As part of the set lunch, we had honeycomb ice cream for dessert, which was superb as well. We had an extra bonus of mochi that was equally delicious.

Hide Yamamoto Lunch

The three of us went to Hide Yamamoto at MBS for lunch. The online review about this place seem to be favorable. DH had dined here before and obviously he liked it and he wanted us to have try their  food as well.

Miss K and I selected their $68 lunch. DH selected a couple of ala carte dishes, some of which did not have their pictures taken.

Our first course from the set lunch was Appetizer. There were three kinds, all of which were not our cup of tea, they were not anything we'd like to have.

Their sushi was so much better. They were nicely done and quite delicious. Miso soup was.... like any other miso soup, nothing spectacular and not memorable. I can't remember how it was like.

DH ordered Futomaki, there were eight pieces of them. He knew ahead of time that we would not be able to finish them and we took the rest home. Their futomaki is one of the better ones that I have had.

He also had a bowl of ramen and made me tasted the broth. I did not find it extraordinary, maybe other people like it better than I do.

Last course was our ice cream dessert. It was basically matcha ice cream. Done.  I was still craving for more food.

I don't believe it's worth the price we paid and the effort we made to go there. It's good to have tried, because now I know.

Ristorante Takada, Singapore

There are lots of pictures here. Each of the three of us chose a three-course set menu. The restaurant gave us amuse bouche of Mushroom Cappuccino in a small cup above. They also bought bread, bruschetta and three slices of Trippa Pizza to the table. All were before we began with our selected appetizer.

Three Appetizers:

Burrito Cheese with Parma Ham and Deep Fried Hamo

Kanpachi (from Tsukiji market) in Carpaccio

My selection was Octopus grilled Zucchini, eggplant, Capsicum Caponata.

Our mains:

Tagliolini Pepperoncino Hokkaido Sea Urchin.

Spaghetti with Prawns,Baby Scallop, Cabbage, in Nori cream sauce.

My pick was Oven Baked Cod Fish with lemon and breadcrumbs.

Then, while waiting for our coffee and desserts, we got these petit fours in a generous selection. Who could resist?

Desserts:

Tiramisu of, who else, but, DH.

Beautiful looking Creme Brulle above and finally, mine was Porched Peach with Gelato.
