Yhingthai Lunch

This was from a more recent lunch in Singapore. We went to a restaurant that we had been before and ordered our usual dishes i.e Pad Thai and Green Curry Chicken with spring roll for starter. We also shared Tapioca with coconut milk for dessert.

Ar Roi On Post St.

The concierge at our hotel in San Francisco suggested us a Thai restaurant that is supposed to be the best if not one of the bests in town. Unfortunately, it was closed the day before and on Independence Day. It was a good thing that we were still around on 5th July and we really wanted to try. By we, I meant, DH, naturally. It would be for lunch. As we planned for more Scala's dinner on our last evening in San Francisco.

This place was just a couple of blocks away from Union Square. It was so easy to just walk to the place while the weather continued to be super gorgeous. We arrived at around 11:30, it was early and of course, it was very quiet. We were their first customers of the day. It was mutually decided that we had Spring Rolls as starter. It's a right on choice. They were so good.

DH also attempted to try their Tom Yum Soup, a little deviation from our routine. The soup was great. Interestingly, I found some tomatoes inside. I don't recall having Tom Yum Soup with tomatoes before. The balance of the taste in the soup was excellent. It was another great dish that we loved.

Pad Thai. Sure. DH liked it so much, it was the best he's had so far and I must agree with him. I am drooling just typing this out and looking at the pictures. I want more from them!

We only ordered Green Curry Chicken after all the food that we ordered arrived, upon the recommendation from the waitress. Since everything that we had so far were satisfying, we decided to go ahead and order a bowl of it. We thought we could put more food into our expanding tummies. This one did not disappoint to. We loved, loved, loved it! How I wish I had space for dessert, it's too bad we were so stuffed. Happily stuffed! If only I could take this restaurant to Singapore, it would be so fantastic!

Pittsburgh - Another Thai Try

Pittsburgh
Bridges
Tunnels
Quiet streets on weekends
The many times we got misled by our GPS.
And a place where we had another Pad Thai.........

The evening we arrived, we decided to have Thai food again. We wanted something Asian but could not really find decent choices that we liked and we ended up with our Pad Thai number 6 in a restaurant called Thai Cuisine, located along Liberty Avenue. We also ordered our regulars, spring rolls, Chicken Thai Green Curry and Vegetables with Basil. We enjoyed them and thought that the service was very good and the waiter was friendly.

Thai Spring Rolls

For a change, and since my daughters have been asking anyway, I made Thai style spring rolls instead of my usual ones. I normally use a combination of young bamboo shoots, carrots and mushrooms. This time, however, glass noodles and cabbage are the lead actors, as well as carrots and eggs as extras. With some Thai sweet vinegar dipping sauce, we have them Thai-styled indeed!
