Disappearing Act.....

We had a rare treat last Saturday evening, having the opportunity to witness the Total Lunar Eclipse, right from our terrace.  I took lots of pictures, some were good, many were awful. These two pictures were taken within 25 minutes of each other. It was such a good thing that the sky was very clear that night.....

So Close Yet So Far....

The sky was very clear last night and I am glad that I was looking up to the sky when it happened. The moon was so bright and round and looked so close to the tall building next to it. Surely it's not reachable but we practically did not have to look up much from our position, which was in the 4oth floor of our building.

As the night went further, the moon went up higher. ( I was hoping it went behind the building and pop up again! Ha!) In 12 minutes, it was way up high above the building.

Almost...

I do wonder sometimes how it is like to be on the moon. I wonder how quiet it is there, because at this moment, I like some quietness and peace around me, just to give me some little time to think certain things over. Being a mother of three teenage girls, I do wonder of them. They are some mysteries to unfold at times. And they remain so, as some things are left unanswered. Maybe, like the Father's homily in church this evening, I could simply be less curious about them, because that could be for the better.

Last night was supposed to be the night when the full moon should have appeared. But the rain fell late in the afternoon and the cloud got in the way. The sky was dark. I am happy that I had taken some snaps the night before that. Yes, it's the same old moon, yes it is just as round as ever in my eyes and just as bright as it could be. But for me, it is always fascinating to see and a challenge to take picture of. And to feel that God is so awesome.

Full Moon

It's full moon, it's mid-autumn, it's the festival time. It is the 15th day of the eighth month of the Chinese calendar, which falls today, 22 September this year. Many huge lanterns were set up at Clarke Quay and by the Singapore river. These pictures were, lazily, taken from our terrace. For better pictures, check out this site.
