Ladurée, Ginza-Tokyo

It was time for an afternoon treat. We headed to Mitsukoshi Department Store in Ginza for some tea, coffee, cold water and yummies. It was always hard to pick which one to try, but my eyes had set, mostly on their Mont Blanc to accompany my Cafe Viennois. I wanted something that I had not had before.

DH had chocolate drinks and the intention and will to sample the desserts ordered by others. Our companies had Citroen tart and Millefeuille with berry jam.

Onion Tart

It's an easy caramelized red onion tart that we like to make in galette form. The red onion was caramelized with the help from brown sugar and some balsamic vinegar. We also sprinkled some feta cheese and thyme on top before we put the tart in the preheated oven. Miss K and I made this back last month before she went back to Berkeley.

CNY Goodies

We baked them and we also got a lot more as gift. In a couple of days, it will be the 15th day of Chinese New Year and it will be all over. We, however, still got plenty of goodies too consume ....

Chestnut Tart

Chestnut tart and chocolate ice cream were offered to us when we were flying to Tokyo the other night. I picked chestnut tart and I am glad I did. I was simply nice. I particularly enjoy the chestnut filling. Not too sweet. Just right.

First Pinapple Tarts

Just before Christmas, I made my first ever pineapple tarts at home. The jam was also made from scratch. I must say, they are really good! I am pleased with both the jam and the pastry. Together, they are delicious!
