I seldom make complicated dish. This one is a little time consuming but it is not hard to do. Most the vegetables need to be blanched or boiled separately. I normally pan fried the beancurd instead of deep frying them, to make them healthier. Cucumber and tomatoes are served fresh. I also make the peanut sauce at home from scratch, although they are readily available in the super market as well.

Veggie Lunch
It's not quite a gado-gado but it was derived from there. Peanut sauce really makes everything better, including vegetables. I put together some blanched veggies and some fresh ones and poured some spicy homemade peanut sauce on top. Delicious lunch was served.

Banana And Peanut Butter Galette
I like making galettes. This is a wholewheat galette with a peanut butter on the base, topped it with sliced bananas and blueberries and sprinkled it with brown sugar. It's a great snack or breakfast, whichever you want.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
These cookies are so good, but I can't take the whole credit though. Thanks to Betty Crocker's Peanut Butter Cookie Mix that I still had. All I needed to do was adding an egg and a few tablespoons of oil and water to the mix and stirred them well.
Of course, I poured in just enough chocolate chips before scooping them to the baking pans and baked them. They are chewy and addictive.

Tempted
Talking about peanuts. A niece of mine mentioned in her email that she was having this as snack. This, that I meant, was peanut coated in seasoned egg and rolled in flour before having them deep fried. The Indonesian name for them is kacang telur, kacang means peanut and telur is egg. Most recipes pointed to garlic, sugar and salt as the responsible parties in giving the tasty flavor of the snacks. They might be available at some stores here and I could easily get DH to buy me some from Jakarta, but of course, me being me, I tried to make them at home.
It gave me satisfaction to be able to make them myself whether I will make them again or not in the future. They are good, but I don't think I should eat too much snacks or peanuts, especially since my family members here are not keen to try. They do not like peanuts.
