Dinner At Anzu, San Francisco

First night in San Francisco and we were trying to find a new place that we had never been before, for dinner. A place that had good reference but not far away or in the Union Square area. We found Anzu. On yelp, of course. So here's our first meal in San Francisco, for this trip. Salmon, Beef, and sushi. All were nicely presented, tasted quite delicious and the place had a good service.

Edogawa Unagi, Kyoto

This was one of the many restaurants that we went to when we were in Kyoto. It's a place that specializes in unagi (eel), but we also had salmon sashimi and plum wine to go with the meal.

Sushizanmai, Osaka, Lunch

This was the lunch that we had when we got back to Osaka. We knew ahead of time that we were going to have sushi from the same restaurant chain we love in Tsukiji, Tokyo. They were delicious and very satisfying.

Brotzeit, Vivocity Lunch

I had not been to Brotzeit for quite a long time and somehow one of the three of us decided that we could have lunch there. So, here we were. Unfortunately, I found the food including salad, a tad too greasy to my liking.

Rosti with Smoked Salmon

Virgin Mojito

Mozarella Salad

Fries

Cheese Spatzle

Il Lumino, Macau

We were in Macau for a short getaway, this was back last month and was almost forgotten, because life has been so hectic. DH had booked a table for dinner in a new Italian restaurant in Studio City.

We started with their Fritto Misto and followed by our entrees Squid Ink pasta and Pan Seared Salmon. We also tried their pizza simply because we wanted to try. The crust was thin and cheese was too much and too overwhelming.

Shin Kushiya Lunch

DH and I were in Vivo City and it happened to be lunch time. We were looking for sushi and decided to revisit Shin Kushiya.  We tried a new item i.e soft shell crab salad roll (third picture from the top) and it was quite nice. It is easy to pick up and it is a healthy dish, minus the crab.

First Lunch In Sapporo, Jinbei

By the time we checked in into our hotel in Sapporo and got organized a bit, it was lunch time. We were hungry, but every place seemed to have long lines of people waiting to get a table. We finally picked a random place that offered chirashi don and had our meal there.

Salmon Salad

Salad is always the right pick for a light lunch or dinner. To make it more exciting, sometimes I add something else to it, like pan seared salmon. Pan seared salmon doesn't take a long time and outrageous seasoning. I use salt and pepper and a little olive oil to brown both sides and crisp the skin. I also added garbanzo beans, walnut and pears to the salad to create a more balance overall flavor.

It's New Year. Just like any other day, we needed to eat. We had reservation at Fat Cow and that's where we had our first lunch out this year. All the six of us. We had various dishes and I had tomato salad as well.

Eat Tokyo, London

We decided at the last minute that we were going to have two lunches. Our original place for lunch was Eat Tokyo. DH and I arrived early so we walked around and it took us to China town and to a restaurant that DH always likes to have a meal at, Four Seasons. Like an aha moment, he now wanted to have both sushi and roasted meat.

With limited space in our stomach capacity, we did not order much at Eat Tokyo. We also had a plate of Tempura, but I had no picture of it.
