Driving In The Rain ...

It has been raining quite a bit here lately. We still some sun, especially in the morning, but then, rain will come in the afternoon before it clears up again later on in the day. We went out for lunch a couple of days ago and by the time we finished, it poured heavily. The traffic was affected, as always.

A Wet Day...

It's a miserable wet day today. It began right before 6AM, before Miss K even woke up. It rained rather heavily when I walked her in the dark across the street to the lobby hotel to meet her school friends who were competing in a swim meet this weekend at around 6AM. It rained on and off throughout the day. I took some pictures when the rained stopped for a while. I love water drops on the leaves of Adenium. They always make good pictures...

Rain And Periwinkle

It has been raining a lot, on and off, comes and go, but on and on for so long.  It's so much cooler than the the extreme heat that we experience at times here, it's nice. I don't miss the humidity and the heat. The garden looks green and healthy and I barely need to to effort to water the plants.  I love taking pictures of the Periwinkles with the raindrops on them, they look pretty.

Soaked....

It rained so much today, it practically rained the whole day. It looked rather gloomy and depressing. But, I must say, it is nice to have cool weather here sometimes as we do have some torturing heat at at times. We could make use of our cardigans. Yay.

Our Yellow Alders were blossoming really nicely this morning before the rain came. They are all wet and soaked now. Don't be dishearted, there will be more flowers tomorrow. Happy thought!

Rain!

After many weeks with very little rain, we had it today. It began from the wee hours when most of us were still asleep to .... maybe afternoon??? The picture above was taken at 11:51 AM. Dark and barely no visibility. It was a color picture, but it looks like a black and white one. Dull morning, but nevertheless, I am grateful for the water.

An Afternoon Rainbow

We spotted a rainbow yesterday afternoon, even though it was not really too obvious. It got all of us excited and a few cameras were taken out to take pictures of it.

It was a hot afternoon, but suddenly the rain came heavily that no-one was prepared for. Of course, that did not last too long, the sun started to reappeared, shyly and the rainbow was in sight.......

Anything Could Happen...

Weekend is exhausting, weekend is the time that we have to run errands that we could not finish during weekdays. With this, Monday is super manic and depressing, particularly when we have to start with all the running around all over again. Especially when we are under the weather......

The day started gloomy, humid and uninteresting. Today was the day when the workers were supposed to come to install cabinets, etc in the last room that had not been done up. More workers were expected to come to fix a few things that were quite overdue. A tiring, busy and boring day ahead.

Before they came, two birds were found outside the windows, chatted loudly and sounded happy. I wish I knew what they were talking about. In a bit, they flew to the terrace and continued chirping really loudly, I tried carefully not to scare them so that they did not fly away.

The workers came after 10AM, not early at all for me, made me wonder how much could be done. Shortly before 12, they took off for lunch. See what I mean? I surely wonder.... They came back and I could not be bothered of the time anymore. Rain seemed to be coming....

Rain did came soon before 4. The wind blew really hard, forced me to run around and closed all the opened windows and doors. I saw a neighbor saving her basil plant from the wind and the rain which reminded me that I should too. It poured and poured. Barely anything far was visible outside.

The water did not seem to go down fast enough and a mini flooding on our garden was created before long. It was truly wet and wild but of course did not last forever. The sun did not come out again, but the wind turned into a gentle breeze and the rain slowly became tiny drops. The day was nearly over. Dinner was ready and darkness came.

Tomorrow is another day, the sun will come up but may not be visible. Hopefully it will be a better one than I experienced today. The experience that was not told in this post, the one that exhausted me the most and drained my soul.... Tomorrow will be a different day. Another day with workers coming and maybe different kind of frustration........

When It Rains

We were driving from Cleveland to Ann Arbor two days ago and got ourselves in a rather scary situation when the rain started to fall and got heavier by minutes, until the visibility was practically not there anymore and forced us to stop and wait until the sky was clearer, before continuing our journey.







We didn't have to wait too long and began to see the sun again.
Thank God we made it safely to Ann Arbor. By afternoon in Ann Arbor, it was sunny and hot. Summer is here!!

Down Came The Rain

And so it poured this morning, brought the temperature down. It's cool now, it's nice. Wish it could be like this more often around here.....Awww...

Grey & Wet Weekend

The sky was dark by around 11 o'clock in the morning and I tagged along with DH and No.2 & 3, trying to get a ride and run some errands.


And rain started to pour while we were still on the way there and it got heavier as we parked our car.


DH and the kids crossed the street in the middle of pouring rain, because they had appointment with the dentist. I was supposed to cross the street and take subway to my destination but I thought it was a bit silly to get wet and then go shopping. So I thought I should just wait a bit. The rain was way too heavy. I waited and waited. And waited. 20 minutes later, the rain started to calm down but thunders and lightnings began to take over. Roaring, again and again. What's the matter with the weather?? I continued waiting.

From afar, I saw DH were walking back with the kids. Back to the car, back home! What a waste of my time!

Moral of the story: what a miserable day!
