Kra Pow, Singapore

We found a new place to satisfy our cravings for Thai food. It's an inexpensive place tucked inside Far East Plaza, called Kra Pow. They certainly have delicious food.

Here are some dishes we had on one visit.

Crispy Thai Wings

Massamam Curry

 Pork Fried Rice

 Spring Rolls

Drunkard Noodle Pork

Red Ruby Dessert

Lunch at Lokkee

We had lunch with these loved ones and family members. 😉 We enjoyed the food although we did not particularly like where we were seated. The fried rice with crab meat was particularly delicious.

Lei Garden, Macau

It's another meal in Macau, the one was not planned. It happened that we were in the shopping mall and saw this restaurant. We put our name down in the waiting list and had to wait a bit, it was past lunch time but the restaurant was very busy.

We did not order much, but we really enjoyed what we had. Fried rice was excellent and the sesame balls were fantastic.

Senshu, Fairmont Jakarta

We had omakase with a couple of friends when we were in Jakarta earlier this month. It was basically straight to the restaurant upon landing as traffic was bad. The traffic is always bad in Jakarta. Whatever I planned to do in between arrival and lunch had to be cancelled, even my subsequent appointment had to be rescheduled. Distances are short but it always takes so much longer to reach places. That's Jakarta since as long as I can remember.

I put here some of the good pictures that I have taken, the last one being the dessert. The dessert was french toast that was way too rich and too sweet and a tad too big, especially after we had a bowl of too rich fried rice, that was topped with curry gravy. It's all too much for me.

Fried Rice with Prawn And Broccoli

Because it was really easy to make Fried Rice, I made it again. The variations are endless. In this one, I tried to put in more vegetables to make it healthier. I put broccoli, carrot and spring onions. Eggs and prawns were the stars of this dish.

Prawn Fried Rice

Making fried rice is easy and quick, I wonder why I don't do it more often. This one was with prawn, carrot and sliced spring onions.

Lunch At Wan Hao

We had lunch at Wan Hao for the first time just yesterday. The waiter showed us their special set menu that they were having and it seemed a nice set so we decided to have it.  It started nicely with the combination platter appetizer, which we (DH and I) both enjoyed.

The second course consommé with scallop, egg white and black truffle. DH thought it was good, but I did not like it that much.

Next was steamed fish and more consommé, which I enjoy better than the second one. Next came crab fried rice, plainly presented and was lacking of flavor.

Dessert was lemongrass jelly with lemon sherbet and chopped strawberries and mango. It was just ordinary, but the sherbet was rather nice.

Overall, this would not be something I'd like to repeat.

Osha Thai, Embarcadero, San Francisco

We went to Ferry building and had some little bites there, so were still quite hungry and in need for food after we finished walking around. Crossing the street, DH found a place that he could eat i.e. Thai food. No big surprise here. We had a plate of Pad Thai and one order of Fried Rice. They were just alright, we were not too thrilled about the taste of their Pad Thai.

R & G Lounge, San Francisco

DH had this place recommended to him a friend in Jakarta, who frequents this place when he is in town.  We went there a couple of times, the first of which was just DH and I, while the second was with three other hungry mouths.  The restaurant was always full with lots of people wait for the table as well. Busy, busy place indeed. Nothing fancy, no superb fine dining service, but the food is enjoyable. And that what matters.

The above is their famous crab that we had when the five of us had dinner over there.  We also had This is place to go to when we are in San Francisco.

The dish above is R&G Special Beef (Secret Recipe) that tasted quite delicious.

Busaba Eathai Meals

We normally arrive in London late afternoon, right before dinner time and what we immediately do after we check in to our hotel and put our bags down, is to head to the Busaba Eathai restaurant nearby and have our meal there. DH is crazy about their food. On our last trip, he practically went there on daily basis, maybe except for one day when he could not make it. I did not always join him, but we easily went 5-6 times during our last trip, I lost count.

We tried new dishes, we repeated our orders too. We had all kind of noodles on their menu, we had salad, beef dish, chicken wings and others. We kept on exploring. It was truly satisfying

Busaba Lunch

It was the day after Miss K left for Ashbourne, there were just the two of us in London and million others that we don't know. DH decided that we should eat in Busaba again. It's our third time in four days.  No surprise, DH likes this place SO MUCH. This time, he agreed on ordering dishes that we had not tried before. Mostly.

I had iced ginger tea and DH ordered lemonade to start. DH had been eyeing on Fried Chicken with pandan leaves since he saw a couple of people that ate in our communal table had them on our first meal there, so we had a plate of them too this time.

We also had a salad that we had not tried before, called Yum Sam Som. It was supposed to have blood orange, but I didn't see it there. The salad had pomelo, coconut, red chili, dried shrimp and shallot. The salad was nice and refreshing.

Our crabmeat egg fried rice is below. It was reasonably good. Mild and fair, nothing too exciting about it.

It seemed that we were having a big appetite, so we also ordered Cod Stir Fry, because DH wanted too.   The dish turned out to be fried Cod fish, stir fried with ginger and a few other condiments.  Not bad at all.

Yah, we were stuffed! So stuffed!!
