Cheesecake Factory, San Francisco

We were desperate, we were hungry, we had jetlag.  We landed at San Francisco around noon and by the time we settled into our hotel room and went out to get the food, it was around 2:30PM or 5:30AM in Singapore. Many restaurants closed after lunch. We could not really find what we liked and I thought Cheesecake Factory would be a likely pick. Off we went to Macy's in Union Square under San Francisco beautiful blue gorgeous sky. Do our dismay, there were so many people waiting for the table. We had no choice but getting a number and waited. Hungry, tired. And sleepy. 

Everything tends to be ginormous in Cheesecake Factory. We tried our best to orders things that are small or manageable to eat. To begin with, we are not even a big eater. DH, Miss K and I order our food and a couple of deep fried items to share. Miss K had a small size Caesar Salad while DH and I share a burger. Not the best food, but at least we filled our hungry stomach and more. 

Cheesecake Factory, Short Pump Mall

We had another pleasent encounter with Cheesecake Factory when we went to Richmond, VA. Miss P has classes, because it was Monday, so she missed this one. Since none of us were keen on eating Cheesecake, this was another visit without tasting their cheesecake again. Having learned the size of their meals, I went for the same dishes that I had back in July when we went to San Francisco. I ordered Crispy Crab Bites (above) and Stuffed Mushrooms (below) to share.

We also had two other dishes to share, first of all was Fettucini with Chicken and Sun Dried Tomato. It was rich and delish, of course, but the size was a bit much for us.

Another dish ordered that we found delicious was Charbroiled Chicken Breast that was topped a tomato and Arugula Salad with Parmesan, Asparagus and Brown Rice.This one came from their Skinnylicious Menu. Feeling a little healthier here. Yeah, no room for dessert after all these. Too bad. Maybe next time we should go with their Cheesecake first, followed by the entrees.

Lunch At The Cheesecake Factory

We had our last lunch together with Miss K before she started her Summer Camp this year. We wanted to have it at The Cheesecake Factory at Macy's. The restaurant is located on the 8th floor of Macy's, overlooking the Union Square. Our table was indoor, which was fine, since it was a hot sunny day anyway.

DH got a table while we finished up buying hiking boots from Timberland shop nearby. By the time we got there, the crowd waiting for table was built up, it was great to have a table ready.

Breads on the basket were already served while we tried to decide on what to have. I knew from eating at the Cheesecake Factory in Rhode Island the hugeness of the size of the food served here. I definitely went for something smaller. My picks from the Small Bites section were Stuffed Mushrooms and Crab Cakes. They were small and were only six pieces each. I still managed to share them with my companies who got tempted.

The two pasta lovers, DH and Miss K, of course, ordered pasta with different sauces.

Again, no space left in the tummy for dessert!!! Boo hoo. I really wanted to try. Maybe next time. It was fun being there anyway.

Big Small Lunch Salad

We found The Cheesecake Factory here in Providence Mall and decided to have lunch over there yesterday. It was just a short walk of four long buildings, maybe around 10 minute-walk from our hotel.

Absolutely impressive menu selection, everyone seemed to be quite pleased with what we could have. Without any fight, everyone agreed on quesadilla for appetizer. I love them, especially the guacamole.



Deciding on trying to stay on the healthier side as much as possible, I ordered a small caesar salad while everyone else order pasta and pizza. Then came our order and a big surprise to all of us seeing a gigantic size of the salad. With much effort, I was only able to finish about 1/4 of the serving, my companies had to struggle to finish theirs too. Every year, we have to be reminded of a very a good lesson of serving size in the USA.



Boo hoo, I felt so bad that I wasted so much food. We'll try to order so much less next time. Maybe just the appetizer size will be more than enough.
