Putien, Ion

Not long after having lunch at Putien in Vivocity, we went to Putien in Ion for lunch. We were drooling over their Bee Hoon and we wanted to try different dishes as well. Mission was accomplished, we even tried their desserts.

We had  this Spinach with Salted Egg and Century Egg  as our choice for vegetable. The spinach was well cooked and the gravy was very creamy and delicious.

Pan Fried Yellow Croakers were very tender, but somehow it would not be something that I would order again. It is just not something that I prefer to have.

Putien's Fried Hingwa Bee Hoon remains our favorite. The bee hoon is so light and nicely flavored with clams, pork, prawn and green that work together very well. We were a bit greedy and ordered a medium size that turned out to be too much for the two of us, because we had other dishes and desserts too.

Their chili sauce is to die for. I had it with my veggies, fish and beehoon and I had a lot of them.

This is DH's dessert, Chiled Putien Loquat in Herbal Jelly. There was no complain and he cleaned it up. I suppose it was a good one.

My dessert was sweet potato with pumpkin cream, which was presented very prettily.  I admit that I chose based on the picture presented on the men and I was also curious about the taste of it. I did not enjoy the flavor of the sweet potato but the potato cream was really nice. It scored higher on the look than the taste.

Lunch At Wan Hao

We had lunch at Wan Hao for the first time just yesterday. The waiter showed us their special set menu that they were having and it seemed a nice set so we decided to have it.  It started nicely with the combination platter appetizer, which we (DH and I) both enjoyed.

The second course consommé with scallop, egg white and black truffle. DH thought it was good, but I did not like it that much.

Next was steamed fish and more consommé, which I enjoy better than the second one. Next came crab fried rice, plainly presented and was lacking of flavor.

Dessert was lemongrass jelly with lemon sherbet and chopped strawberries and mango. It was just ordinary, but the sherbet was rather nice.

Overall, this would not be something I'd like to repeat.

Lunch At Putien

DH apparently had been wanting to try the food at this Putien restaurant in Vivocity. The two of us were seated in a small table. The table got too crowded as we had three dishes and a bowl of rice on top of a pot of tea and two cups. DH and I successfully dropped a piece of chicken each. How disappointing! The pieces we dropped were our favorite parts. The above is deep fried chicken with garlic.

The one in the claypot above is Braised Bean curd with Minced Meat Sauce. I am not sure what kind of meat it was and the picture they put on the menu was a lot more presentable than what they served on our table. It was quite delicious, despite its look.

Fried Heng Hwa Bee Hoon that we ordered, looked sad on the plate given to us. The picture on the menu was way so attractive, no surprise DH wanted to have a try. It's a good thing that in terms of taste, all of the dishes were not too bad.

We also tried their dessert . DH picked Chilled Putian Loquat in Herbal Jelly (above) and I had  Chilled Lemon Grass with Fruits (below). Nice!
