Intelligentsia Coffee, Millenium Park Chicago

It was day 2 in Chicago, our first morning i.e breakfast. We went to the nearest Intelligentsia Coffee for breakfast. They did not really have breakfast selections that we wanted so we simply tried their pastry and their cappuccino.

Baffo Dinner, Again

Chicago.

We went back to Baffo again for dinner and tried different dishes there. Our amuse bouche were mini Arancini and they were delicious. My main was a big piece of Porchetta that I liked a lot and shared with a couple of people that I had dinner with.

We had other dishes with no pictures and a couple of desserts that we shared, below.

Dessert Time - Eataly, Chicago

So, we eat and we eat again. In Chicago.

After we had our pizza and pasta on the 2nd floor, we went down to the first floor to get some dessert and coffee. From a few places there, we are the goodies we had:

Mandorlina, almonds based cake with fresh raspberry. it's not my favorite and I would not pick this one next time.

Tiramisu

Cannoli

La Pizza & La Pasta/Eataly - Chicago

Earlier in the day, by earlier, it was nearly noon, we had dim sum for brunch. A couple of hours later, we found ourselves, sitting down in one of the restaurants in Eataly, Chicago, to have some of their dishes. Here I was, trying not too have something to heavy and pick Caprese to share among the four of us. We had two more dishes to share, kind of, ravioli (stuffed with gorgonzola dolce and walnuts, served with pear butter and spiced walnuts) and pizza (Norcina, half of which without Italian sausage). They were so yummy. No regrets.

Life Kitchen -Chicago, Lunch

It was Friday in Chicago and we stayed away form eating meat. .... It's lunch time and we headed back to Lyfe Kitchen, because that's the only nearby place than we could think of that offers healthy vegetarian food.

Here we were and we had:

Fish Tacos, with grilled mahi mahi

Veggie Burger

Quinoa crunch bowl

Simple greens

Dinner At Baffo, Chicago

It was not my intention and plan to have dinner after we arrived in Chicago that afternoon. I thought, we just grabbed a light meal or salad for the evening, especially since we were going to fit into our dress on Saturday. But. Sometimes. Circumstances just forced us to change our plan. Italian food would not be my first choice as well. Again, we ended up here, in an Italian restaurant for dinner.

Here we were, the three of us. Our mouse bouche was Savory Cannoli and we cleaned them up well.

We ordered two appetizers, burrata (above) and polpo (octopus) - below. All were small portions and both were good.

The mains were Triangoli (beef cheek, black truffle, castelmagno),

Risotto (whose else but mine!) (fontina, artichoke, black truffle)

Tajarin al nero (frutti di mare, breadcrumb, herbs )

Our dessert was Crema, salted caramel, saffron, apples, sesame. With these many small dishes and drinks, the three of us were very full indeed. Delicious food overall.

Pictures From Magnificent Mile, Chicago

During our stays in Chicago, we had sunny bright days. It was cold though, too cold for us, especially considering it was the end of April and we ridiculously wanted a warmer weather.  The sky was blue, and it was so beautiful to take pictures there.

Il Pesce, Chicago

It was our last afternoon in Chicago and we revisited Eataly. There are many restaurants there and we picked Il Pesce this time. We had not had salad for a while so we decided to get Three-Color Salad (Insalate Tricolore - Radicchio, Endive and Arugula salad with balsamic vinaigrette).

We also had the above, Fritto Misto (fried seafood) and below, Salmone Sotto Sale (house-cured salmon with spring vegetables).

For dessert, we shared Tiramisu (again).
