Parmesan Puffs

I baked these favorites of ours, delicious little cheesy stuff that can be eaten anytime. They can be for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Or anytime you want to have them. We could have them on their own or have them with jam or whatever you want.

There's nothing much more that can be said about them. They are simply yummy.

Jamie's Italian Lunch

It was Sunday, our second day in London. After church in the morning, we did a little shopping along Oxford St then headed to Shepherd's Bush for lunch. Our destination was Jamie's Italian (again!!).

First, we had a couple of starters to share among the three of us. The above is our usual order, Baked Chestnut Mushrooms and below is Arancini Margherita.

I tried their Rossini Spritz, i.e. Prosecco with red berry purée. No biggie.

What I like best was my Main, Porchetta, which was pork belly with herbs & garlic, fennel crackling & wild mushrooms. It was really good and tender. Yum!

Miss K chose Ricotta dumplings with sage, lemon & Parmesan butter while DH had Crab Spaghetti. We could not order desserts because they stopped taking order after Westfield mall was evacuated due to suspicious package. So that's how it ended.

Parmesan Puffs

These little buns with grated parmesan on top, are just good for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You can use some jams, cheese, chicken, tomatoes and just about anything.  Yummy!

Skinny Pizza Dinner

Miss K and I had dinner after church last week, Skinny Pizza was the place we picked. It was unplanned and it turned out nice. We did not have to wait for a table and we did not overthink what we wanted to order. All decisions were made in a nick of time. We shared Grilled Figs with Parmesan Crumble Pizza and Fish and Chips.

Friday The 13th!

Only one who listens can speak.
Dag Hammarksjold

This post has nothing to do much with the title, other than the fact that it is written on Friday, 13 January. It has been like any other Fridays, nothing spooky whatsoever. Yesterday, we were low with our egg stock, it was down to just one egg left in the fridge. Coincidentally, I craved for this Parmesan Cheese Crackers , which does not need any eggs to make.

This is Mark Bittman's New York Times recipe and you can see the recipe right here! It is very easy to make, really fast and the outcome is super delicious! Yummy!

Spaghetti With Bacon

Pasta or Spaghetti in particular, would not be the first pick for my meal, but when I have Spaghetti, I like to keep them simple. I had Spaghetti for dinner a few nights ago, I tossed them in olive oil, chopped basil leaves and crispy bacon and sprinkled with lots of black pepper and top them with grated Parmigiano. Ready to go.

Prosciutto Overload....

We dined at a newly opened restaurant right down below, it is called Limoncello. There are so many Limoncello restaurants around the globe, I don't think it is related to any of them, but I might find out something different later. Among lots of dishes that we had, we ordered a 13-inch prosciutto pizza served with rocket leaves and parmigiano regianno. To our surprise, they were so generous with the amount of prosciutto served, covering the pizza. With one of the anti pastis that we had, also had so much prosciutto, I think I have enough prosciutto for a while......

Annual Thing?

Upon a little research, I found out that a year ago, I baked the same parmesan cheese crackers and posted the pictures on DH's birthday - which is today -, unintentionally. Weird. I have no idea what drove me into baking these and posting the pictures.

Here we go again, a year later and we have the yummy crackers in the house.

The 13th And Friday! Happy Birthday!

It's Friday the 13th.... Spooky? Nope. It's like any other day. The day started so gloomy with lots and lots of rain and continued to remained gloomy for the rest of the day with more rain. Depressing.

It's DH's birthday today, the birthday boy was flying in only in the evening. As usual, none of us really knew what time he was supposed to land. With me being under the weather and running for appointment, I had nothing much to prepared except for some excuses. He came back by dinner time and we had dinner outside. No fuss!

We made parmesan cream crackers yesterday. It was a last minute thing as the kids were still feeling hungry so shortly after dinner. I don't understand how that could happen. One minute they said they very full, the next minute they said they were still hungry. Simply feed them with more.

Parmesan Cream Crackers

It's nice and refreshing for me to wake up on a Saturday morning and to feel the coolness around. We barely get much of that here. I am longing for cooler weather....

Here is something easy and quick to do and the result is still great. It's a matter of mixing together flour, salt, parmesan cheese, butter and cream until they become one good dough.

Roll the dough until it becomes thin and score lightly.

Slip them on for 10 minutes in the hot oven.

Cool them a bit before you start munching them and let me tell you, once you pop, it is going to be hard to stop!

Really. Try it! They are really good!

Just For One!

Life would be a lot easier if everyone here likes the same kind of food, Chef Blue will all smile from ear to ear the whole day. Surely, that's not the case. The three juniors here, occasionally, will be craving for the same food, but quite often, they have different preferences. This is the time when the boss of the house will say, "You don't always get what you want. Sometimes you have to be willing to eat whatever has been prepared and be grateful about it!" And then, the three will obediently eat..... NOOOOOOOO.... of course not!!!!!!!! I wish!

No.3 loves cheese, but doesn't want to have anything to do with cheese muffins. No. 2 loves muffins, but not those with cheese. So cheese muffins are especially made for No.1. The fillings were in big chunks, not grated, topped with thickly-sliced ones and grated parmesan! Cheesy, but not cheesy..... Just for you!
