St. Stanislaus Kostka Church

It was Sunday in Pittsburgh and we started the day with going to a church down the the road from our hotel, after we managed to watch the first and part of the second sets between Nadal against Federer in Wimbledon final. The church is just a few blocks away, nevertheless, we drove as we planned to go out straight after the mass.

ST. STANISLAUS KOSTKA, that's the name of the church. It is a Polish Cathedral style of church and one of the oldest churches in Pittsburgh, constructed in 1891. It is a very beautiful church with an architectural blend of Romanesque and Baroque. The homily was really interesting because the Father used hand gestures a lot in stressing out what he was talking about and reminded me a lot of David Archuleta when he is being interviewed by the media. I didn't see any altar boys or girls that day and I am not sure whether it is what normally happen in that church. I didn't see that many youngsters as well. My guess might be due to the fact that it is located in Strip District by downtown, by business area instead of residential one. I could be wrong, irregardless, I had a great one hour over there.
