Jakarta Again!

I am back home for Easter Day after spending four days in Jakarta, following around four-year of being away from the city. The traffic was not terribly bad, likely to be caused by the long weekend.  It's hard to believe that in a matter of hours, it will April.

Aside from completing what necessary to be done in the Capital City of Indonesia, I had a blast catching up with my sisters, nephews, nieces, visiting some excellent shopping malls and eating some of the best food in town. It was a great visit.

The picture at the top is Bunderan HI and down below is the view of Jakarta taken from our apartment.

Wagyu Beef Rolls

We had a set lunch at Nadaman, Shangri La Hotel, Singapore last Monday. The set included some sushi and teppanyaki too. The pictures here are their Wagyu Beef Rolls with Sweet Onion Sauce. Wrapped in the center of the rolls are spring onions.

Lunch At La Lunna Rossa, Again

I got a chance to pick a place for lunch last Sunday. La Lunna Rossa was actually my second choice, but my first was only offering huge buffet and it was not something that I wanted to take up. As usual, we picked our dishes from their special set lunch. This time they had buffet antipasto that allowed us to pick whatever we like from the table.

My main Entree was braised Seabass.

DH picked linguini with Scampi, Zucchini and Peperoncino.

Miss K got herself a classic Spaghetti Carbonara.

All of us got a plate of assorted desserts. My favorite was the Tiramisu. I could have more but could not resist trying the others that were served in front of me.

A Little Lesson

Our tour guide in Tokyo was a very nice lady. She also gave us some simple Japanese lesson when were in driven around. I'm not certain how many of us really paid attention, but it was fun. Happy times, how I love those!

When The Sun Goes Down ...

Evening came and the sun went down, beautiful scenery appeared in the sky. How time flies, March is nearing end again.... I feel I have not done much this year and a quarter of it is nearly gone. I feel I have wasted my time on dwelling on unnecessary things that life continues distracting me with from its purpose. I want to be happy. Be! Let me try again, after all, it's all I can do.

Soup Restaurant

Soup restaurant has become of the restaurants that we frequently visit. The name is a bit misleading as its signature dish is actually Samsui Ginger Chicken which we always order every time we go there. The best part of the dish is actually the ginger sauce, it enhances the flavor of the tender chicken by a million miles.

We went to one of the restaurants located in Vivocity for lunch last Saturday. Miss K's favorite is their Olive Rice and of course we had it.  We normally order their Bean Curd Dish but we had the claypot rice below. We also had a plate of vegetable dish and fried noodles, both of them did not really have interesting presentation, but tasted reasonably alright.

Marina Bay Sands, 9:31AM last Saturday. It was a bright sunny morning and this picture was taken against the sun from the park where Merlion is located.

Thai Lunch

There are many new restaurants in Wheelock Place and somehow we decided on eating in Bangkok Jam. Maybe it's the result of not having Thai food in a while? Our firsthand experience with Bangkok Jam in Great World City was not a good one and I refuse to go back there. It turned out, many people complained about the same poor service by this branch as well.  My own experience this time around in this place was a better one and the food was fine too. DH and I shared a plate of Fish Cake and I had Salted Fish Fried Rice (below). DH had Rice with Chicken Basil.

So Long February!

Last sunset in February this year.... It's been really fast and eventful.
