Someone's Breakfast ....

This picture was taken around six weeks ago, it was at the lounge at the airport. It was morning when we had to leave and Miss K's pick tend to be these Roti Prata for her breakfast there. She actually loves having them with sugar instead of Curry Gravy. I know it has not been that long since I had my holiday, but whenever possible, I like to go away and visit places that I have never been. Or I have been, it's okay too.  Just trying to have a great time with the loved ones while we can..... So I will be off again in about 12 hours..... because I can and everyone else is also available! Yay!

The Practice, Again!

National Day is just around the corner and they have been rehearsing over the past weeks. On Saturdays we were able to see the flags being carried by the choppers, the performance by the fighter jets and the fireworks. 11 more days to the D-day!

Lunch At Ochre, OC

It was a lunch buffet that I originally hesitated to go to, because I really did not want to end up over eating. I tend to be tempted to try many things when I have a buffet meal. We did go anyway, because the restaurant, Ochre, had the option for us to have Antipasti Buffet only. We did not need to have a main course and could stay away from the desserts.  Ochre is located on the 11th floor of Orchard Central.

I loved their grilled vegetables and fresh salad much more than their pasta.

The pictures above and below are Burrata with Tomato salad inside. It's my first try and I liked it.

Set out down here is Crab Risotto which was quite good too.

Salad Dinner

After a big lunch, it is wiser that I should take a smaller meal, naturally. I know that will be hungry if I don't take anything at all. This salad is light and very easily prepared, I like to add avocado slices, mozzarella balls and a couple of lightly roasted ciabatta slices on the side. Perfect for a healthy light dinner.

Revisiting La Nonna

We got the full team at home this Summer. Last Sunday,  everyone went to church together and we got to have dinner together after the mass.  We were back to the place that most of our family members would not say "no" too. It's La Nonna time. We always enjoy their bread basket, the breads are always warm and that make a big difference to the taste.

It was an easy pick for me. I stayed with my favorite, salad with mozzarella wrapped in Parma Ham.

DH also picked his safe favorite, Linguine with crab meat. The five of us also shared a Pizza Margherita.

Miss K always loved Gnocchi with Porcini Mushroom and Cream sauce.

One of the specials of the day (or evening in this case) was Cod Fish and Miss P had it.  All were full and satisfied. It was a nice Sunday evening dinner.

Unagi Rice at Kaetsu, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong

It was the day we arrived in Hong Kong last month, we hurried to lunch at Kaetsu Grand Hyatt after we checked in to our room. We were very hungry and and the restaurant was about to close. The concierge helped us book a table and let them know that we were coming. The most impressive dish was the one ordered by DH, it was grilled Unagi with rice above. It was simple but both the Eel and the rice were super delicious. They were practically the best I had ever tasted. (Yes, I tried some of his!)

My lunch was some grilled fish while Miss K had various sushi as usual. We also had Salmon Sashimi, which was yummy too.

Lunch At Jade Restaurant

There are so many restaurants in this City, even within the vicinity of our residence. Jade Restaurant is part of Fullerton Hotel, which is quite near from our place too and near or within the business district area. We were there to do our banking business and met up with Miss L who was working in the area.

I am not impressed with the lunch. I don't think the flavors of the food we ordered and the services they provided justified the price charged. I don't believe that I would come back here again if I had the choice. The service was rather poor for such a fine hotel.  Our favorite was actually their sea bass (first picture above). We ordered pan fried sea bass but they looked more like deep-fried. When queried, their staff insisted that that's the way they should be. We had Char-Siew Bau (above) and Siew Mai (below) and a plate of Sauteed Spinach.

Akashi, Paragon

We tried a new retaurant last Friday, after shopping for some clothes with the girls. Japanese is always an easy destination on non-meat Friday. I thought I had too many Unagi Rice in the recent weeks, so I ordered a set lunch of grilled Saba (Mackerel).  The fish was big! With the help from others, I still was not able to finish.

Miss K ordered various of her various Sushi, including a hand-roll that was not pictured here.

Miss L had her Cod with Miso. Our total bill was more than S$90, Sushi being the most expensive items of all.

Hui Lau Shan, Hong Kong

Like I wrote before, we simply can't miss this when we visit Hong Kong.  Mango desserts from Hui Lau Shan! Simply irresistible! I like to try different ones but tend to order this particular one, Black Glutinous Rice with Mango dessert. This one was from the Airport. We also had them when we were in town.

The one below was Miss K's. Of course, it's a dessert with mango and more goodies. Can't remember exactly what's in there but it was surely delicious!

Breakfast At Grand Hyatt, Hong Kong

It's nice to get away from home for a few days. It's refreshing and wonderful not to worry about cooking and washing the dishes.  We stayed at Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong, which in terms of building, rooms and facilities, they are a bit outdated, but it's alright. They have very good service. We woke up, got ready and went downstairs and the breakfast was simply there. Nice! I am happy with reasonably simple breakfast. What they served was much more than simple. I was not feeling so well and I welcome rice porridge anytime. Theirs was delicious and all of us had them in the end.

I picked up some mixed sliced fruits and salad too, sneaking in a couple slices of ham as well. Lovely!

The view was the gloomy sky of Hong Kong. It rained on our first morning and day when we were there. It was not a problem for us as we did not plan to be doing things outside. We took a cab and headed to the shops that we needed to get some stuff from. Cabs are easily available in Hong Kong and they are inexpensive.

Akashabu Lunch

I am not a fan of this restaurant, Akashabu at Funan, but DH and Miss K like the food quite a bit. I only go when I had to, just like this time. I am into Unagi lately so that's what I ordered. It's a set lunch that came with Miso Soup and a couple slices of watermelon for dessert. DH had the same order too.

Miss K had various sushi that she liked. We also had Salmon Sashimi.

Pictures From The Venetian, Macau

The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel is a hotel resort in Macau. Famously known for its Casino, but since we do not go there, we browsed the shopping mall that is attached to it. We have been here before and I guess I did not take many pictures of them this time. Here are some!

Bali Thai, Velocity

We do not normally go to Velocity, but one day we went there trying to get a pair of running shoes for Ms. P and we had lunch prior to hunting the right shoes. The restaurant was Bali Thai, we dined there once before. There were four of us and we ordered quite a number of dish. To begin with, we had Stuffed Chicken Wings above and Fish Cakes below.

We, almost never fail, ordered our regular orders at any Thai restaurants, Green Curry Chicken above and Pad Thai below.

We also had Balinese style Grilled Chicken, which we found a bit sweet and disappointing. It was basically not exciting to eat! Not for us!

Our dessert was Tapioca with Coconut Milk. Overall, it was not so bad! It was quite a big lunch. I was gaining weight surely.....
