Anzu At Japan Food Town, Singapore

A while back, we took an evening walk along Orchard rd without planning to have dinner but somehow, of course, we got hungry, because we had not had dinner yet. We ventured to the newly opened Japan Food Town in Wisma Atria and reached a mutual decision to try tonkatsu at Anzu, Ginza. We got a table on the spot, it was not crowded.

I had Gin-Jo Pork Fillet Katsu Set and DH had Fried Shrimp Katsu Set. All were superb and the service was great too. It is definitely a place that we can go back again.

PS Cafe Petit Dinner

This was about three weeks ago, before Miss K returned to Berkeley. Summer holiday went by so fast and it's time for her to go back to California before classes start. She needed to move in to her new apartment and get everything she could use. It was a very busy Summer for her.

PS Cafe is located very close to our place and they have reasonably good food. Just the three of us. DH's pick is never far from pasta and seafood, and if a restaurant have both of them one dish, he would select it. It's way too easy to guess. His dish is called Shrimp, Crab and Crumb. It is spicy spaghettini with sugar snaps, spinach, crab meat, shrimp and garlic crumbs. The size suits well for people with big appetite. I had a little bit of it and I thought it was a good one.

Miss K chose Panini Slim, called Truffle Cheese Mushroom. The name is very descriptive of what's inside the grilled sandwich.

Finally for me, I had Vegetarian Moussaka. I tend to try something new or something that I rarely or do not make at all at home. This dish seems to have good reviews online and I was curious to try. I actually am not a fan of pumpkin and pumpkin is one of the ingredients listed, aside from capsicum, celeriac, spinach, mozzarella and smokey tomato jam. Looking at the items that make the dish, I should have known that it is on the sweet side, which doe not suit my preference too well. The size was a bit too big for me as well.

Wong Chi Kei, Macau

A couple of people including one of the hotel managers, recommended us to try this famous wanton noodles in Macau. We were in Senado Square and the shop is located there. It was Saturday and right around lunch time, queue was expected. We, however, did not have to wait too long. We were not too hungry so we basically had their noodle soup with shrimp dumplings, simply just trying. They were quite good although it was not that extra ordinary. It's probably one of the better ones that we have tried.

L'Angolo di casa, Milan

We had dinner at this place upon the recommendation of our hotel's Concierge. It's located within minutes on foot from where we stayed and it was good, because we were still exhausted from the traveling time and jetlag.  The food they serve didn't make good-looking pictures but they tasted great. The staff there were also accommodating to my company's special requests.

We had Fritto Misto  as starter. They were a little bit oily but the seafood was so good!

I had Milanese Risotto with Osso Buco. Delish! I enjoyed every bit of it.

DH's tonight's order was his usual Seafood Pasta. I believe it tasted great too.

Lunch At Lime, Parkroyal

Back in Marh, we came to Parkroyal, originally trying to find a good dim sum place, but the only restaurant there, was only Lime.  They offered buffet and ala carte. Buffet won!

I went to the salad place second, after getting some salmon sashimi and a few others from their Japanese food section. I was excited by many varieties of salad they offered, they tasted good too. You can also make your own Cesar Salad. There were plenty of bread and cured meats as well.

I also enjoyed the selection of other dishes, some of which were cooked on the spot per request. Desserts were quite varied too. We left full and were quite pleased, @$58 per person, before GST and service charge. Scroll down for more pictures!

Dinner At Kayu Puti, St. Regis Bali

DH and I had dinner at one of the restaurants at our hotel, St. Regis Bali. We had their Cold and Hot Signature Dishes. The amuse bouche served to us was foie grass and it was excellent. Five types of bread for each of us with a few different dips were superb too.

Zizzi, Wigmore St.

There's a Zizzi Restaurant near Hyatt Churchill where we stayed when we were in London. We thought of having a meal there one late afternoon. More than filling our stomach, we wanted to sample the food they had. The four of us tried a bit of everything, including a plate of salad and pizza.

Seafood Dinner At Sedap Malam

Sedap Malam is one of DH's favorite places in Jakarta and he really wanted me to try their food. Our driver told us that a new branch near our place had been opened and I could not be happier. I really dislike having to go far away just for food. I rather settle with something from any nearby places. Jakarta's traffic is just not for me. DH picked a medium size crab and had it cooked with black pepper. It was spicy and tasty and so full of crab roe..... it was outstanding.

We had a plate of Kangkong, simple and nice to accompany the rest of the dishes.

A fish cooked with Singapore sauce, whatever that was, it was delicious as well.

I guess, we might as well ordered Shrimp, since we were there already. I opted them stirred fried in butter and soy sauce. They were so good. The food was way too much for just the two of us but I think it's a place that I'd like to come back when I get a chance too. I need to figure out the cholesterol problem though! ;)

Lunch At La Luna Rossa

DH took me to an Italian restaurant that I had never been at Scotts Square, called La Luna Rossa. I guess he likes the food there, hence wanted me to experience them too. Both of us ordered from their Classic Lunch Set. Here there are:

For me, first course: Grilled green asparagus, prosciutto, parmigiano, poached egg

Second Course: “Gratinato” Marche style oven-baked prawn and barramundi with bread crumbles

Dessert: Fig compote, spiced red wine granite

DH's first course: Tuna and avocado tartar with wasabi, herb salad. (extra $5 for this selection!)

Pasta, of course!

Tiramisu (I must say, of course too!)
