Breakfast At The Grand Club Lounge

I like it when I travel and am able to put together a healthy breakfast like the ones I could have at home.  We were in Taipei and that's the breakfast that came from three small glasses of muesli that the lounge prepared. I added some sliced bananas and kiwi too, along with granola and some other dried fruit.  That'll do it.

Jean Paul Hevin, Taipei 101

The last time we went to Jaun Paul Hevin was in Osaka and we had such a pleasant experience and I was excited to find out that Taipei 101 has one too. I planned it out so that we could have an afternoon tea (chocolate) there on our second day in Taipei.  I had Matcha flavor hot chocolate while DH ordered hot chocolate. We tried and shared a sliced of cheese cake and one of their chocolate cakes. They were alright but we did not find them extraordinary. I was a little disappointed but as always, I would not know unless I tried.

Lunch At Shanghai Pavilion, Tainan

We were in Tainan for a few hours only, we took high speed rail train in the morning from Taipei and went around to see a few places and had lunch there. Our hotel in Taipei made a reservation for us at Shanghai Pavilion. The restaurant is nicely located on 38th floor and we got a table by the window, overlooking the city.

Shanghai Pavilion has a large menu selection. We decided to try their Xiao Long Bao and to make sure we have some greens, we ordered a vegetable dish too.

Then for the best part, the two of us had lobster cooked with mildly spicy chili sauce. The dish came with a fried bun that was sliced into pieces. We dug in and cleaned up the plate quite well. Delish.

Finally, we felt compelled to try their beautiful sliced pork belly pyramid layered with pickles. It came with a bun. It's not bad at all, but I feel that its presentation scores much higher mark compared to its taste.

Buckwheat Soba Salad

It was quite a quick salad I made last month, I used some cooked buckwheat soba, mixed and tossed with rockets, sliced capsicum, julienned carrots and pineapples pieces with lime juice dressing and sprinkled with sesame seeds. Fresh and delicious meal was made!

Day 2, Around Taipei 101

It was a beautiful day we had on the second day we arrived in Taipei earlier this month. The weather was pleasant and the sky was gorgeous blue.

Grand Club Lounge, Taipei - Dinner

We flew off to Taipei earlier last week and arrived in the afternoon. By the time we settled in our room, the sun has set. The sun set around 5:30 over there. We were hungry and headed to the lounge to check out when they offered. We decided to have dinner there, they had food that could satisfy our tummies. We had burger, noodles soup, salad and very appetizing desserts.

Gado - Gado

Gado gado is an Indonesian salad, served with delicious spicy peanut sauce and some crackers on top. Most of the vegetables are either boiled or blanched. People sometimes include bean curd and tempe too. It is one of my favorites to eat.

Mandarin Kitchen, London - Lunch

Our plan for that morning when we were in London was to take a stroll along the Kensington Gardens. The sky was grey but it didn't rain when we started walking.  We took our time, took as many pictures as we want and sent them all over the world for our family else to see. By lunch time, we arrived at Kensington Palace and Mandarin Kitchen was just minutes away from there. It started to rain and because we did not have umbrella with us, we sped up and rushed to the restaurant.

The restaurant was still very quiet when we arrived. After looking at what they have on their menu, we decided to have a bowl of crab soup to share to begin. We also ordered a plate of fried noodles and a Tofu claypot. All of them were a bit under-seasoned, to me.

Smoothie!

I had breakfast that tasted like dessert. This smoothie was made with frozen bananas, raspberries, strawberries and almond milk. Use a strong blender to blend them all. With a little bit of coconut milk on top and more raspberries, breakfast was ready in no time.

Lunch At Imperial Treasure Noodle & Congee

Back in September after we returned from San Francisco we were nearby this restaurant when we were about to have lunch. Since we had never been there, we figured we gave it a try. We ordered a couple of simple dish and a plate of roast pork and soy chicken.  Yum.

Lunch At PS Cafe, Paragon

Miss K and I finally made it to PS cafe after talking about it so many times. This was way back in the Summer. I met her after I finished my appointment and shared a vegetarian sandwich and a bowl of mushroom room, which we did not really like. We also had a slice of pecan pie with a scoop of ice cream for dessert.

Tim Ho Wan, Plaza Singapura

There seems to be a line or a long line whenever we pass by this restaurant. After having tried the one in Hong Kong, we successfully tried the food in Tim Ho Wan in Singapore. We made a conscious effort to come before the crowds jammed the place. We came before lunch and we got a table nearly right away.

We didn't come with any high expectation on the service side after experiencing a terrible one in Hong Kong. I was not looking forward to a cramped place, but this one turned out to be a better place than the one we went to in Hong Kong. The dim sum were presented in much better condition too and the taste were good as well.

Lunch At Tatsuya

We made it to Tatsuya, Goodwood Park Hotel, for lunch for the first time last month. Without reservation, the two of us got a seat outside. Fortunately  it was quite a cool day. We ordered their bento box as it is just a lot easier to choose and to try their food. The food was really good.

Shin Kushiya Lunch

It had been a while since we had a meal at Shin Kushiya and just recently we went back there. I actually enjoyed the food and the service there. We had a bowl of Salmon Salad with mango that I liked so much. It was fresh and the dressing was delicious, just the way I like it.

We also ordered Salmon Sashimi, kushiyaki and a few others. The bill came to more than $94 for just the two of us.

Granola Breakfast

This is from nearly a month ago, how time flies! I had granola with yoghurt, kiwi, papaya, berries and dried figs. That's breakfast.
