Buckwheat Soba Dinner

I have become a buckwheat soba recently and have sort of created my own healthy recipe involving soba and selected vegetables that I love. It's vegetarian, there's no meat involved here. I used tofu, red capsicum, onion, carrots and spinach. A little bit of salt and pepper for seasoning and the meal was ready in almost no time.

Baked Banana Walnut Mini Donuts

I used a basic muffin recipe for this, but added mashed banana and chopped walnuts and used the mini donut pans to bake the batter. The results are cute and bite-size and DH loves them more than those in the form of classic muffin shape. I don't know the real reason, but they must have tasted better this way. I like them better too.

Oatmeal Breakfast

I got many of my favorite things in a bowl for breakfast. This is a bowl of warm oatmeal cooked with low fat milk and topped with kiwi slices, dried figs and raspberries and sprinkled with goji berries, sesame seeds, chia seeds, cocoa nibs, almond and sesame seeds.

Bangkok Jam Lunch

We had not dined at Bangkok Jam in Great World City for a long while, as in the past, their service was really poor. The food took ages to arrive and the staff and the manager were not responsive to our requests. One afternoon last week, DH and I decided to give it another try, but also tried to beat the crowds by going there for earlier lunch.

I picked two dishes that I never tried before.  We had a side of Lemongrass Prawn Cakes above, which were quite good. For my main, I tried Thai Olive Fried Rice below. It's just fine too. Nothing extraordinary.

DH stuck to his favorite rice with Stirred Fried Minced Chicken and Basil.  And that's another ordinary lunch date of ours.

Early Dinner At Ippudo, Mandarin Gallery

We finished our doctor appointment one late afternoon and were walking home when I suggested to have an early Ramen dinner at Ippudo. We had lunch there once, a long time ago and I thought it would be a good idea to revisit. At 5PM plus, the place was rather quiet.

To start, we had Avocado and shrimp wasabi mayo to share. It was quite nice but the wasabi was a bit too strong for us.

I chose their Original Tonkotsu Ramen with pork belly and DH picked a bowl of ramen with miso broth (no picture!).  Mine tasted reasonably good but I have to say that it was a bit too oily for my taste.

French Toast

I baked a loaf of Hokkaido milk bread and had a bit of leftover and used a thick slice to make my breakfast. These French toast were drizzled with Wildflower honey and served with kiwi, raspberries and mango with blueberries scattered around the top.

A Little Holiday @ MBS

We took a little time off, heading straight to Marina Bay Sands. We always talked about staying there for a while and we finally made it. We checked in and we got an upgrade. Yay. Our room had a city view which was lovely.

Of course, just minutes after we went to our room, we had to go up to see the Skypark that we normally saw from afar. Just like in the pictures. But that day, it was so packed and crowded. It was hot and sunny. Everyone was out  to enjoy the sun, the water and the view or snap some nice pictures of the gorgeous views around.

Mango Smoothie...

We had plenty of mangoes and on one hot afternoon, I decided to make this mango smoothie with some frozen banana that I had. I also mixed in some orange juice and coconut cream. A yummy combination!

Around Duomo, Milan ....

It was one fine Sunday in Milan. The sky was blue, the weather was fantastic and we took a walk around Duomo, went to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II had some Gelato and stroll along via Dante. Wonderful! (Sadly, this was two months ago already!)

Portofino

I am glad we made it to Portofino. It is such a lovely beautiful amazing little place. We took a ferry from St. Margherita and it was just a short ride with gorgeous view.  The town is small and every place seems to be near the harbour. They have a nice Gelato too! Yum.
