Lunch At Cracco Peck, Milano

Peck is one of the most recommended place to go to and to dine in when you go to Milan. It's located just near Duomo, but we had a hard time finding it because the GPS really messed us up.

We checked out their shop, carrying beautiful meats, goodies, cheeses and everything else that I wish I could buy and take them home with me. The restaurant is upstairs and their food is really superb. This was our first time having a meal there and we truly enjoyed every single bit of everything.

The above is amuse bouche provided by the restaurant.

I had a dish called Piatto Unico Venerdi, which was basically mashed potatoes in the bottom of the plate with Cod fish. I can't remember exactly the description of how the fish was done. But it was really delicious.

My company had Linguine al pesto above. As a side order for sharing, we had spinach.

We were really full but still attempted to  try their desserts and coffee too.  Fabulous!!

Revisiting La Nonna

We got the full team at home this Summer. Last Sunday,  everyone went to church together and we got to have dinner together after the mass.  We were back to the place that most of our family members would not say "no" too. It's La Nonna time. We always enjoy their bread basket, the breads are always warm and that make a big difference to the taste.

It was an easy pick for me. I stayed with my favorite, salad with mozzarella wrapped in Parma Ham.

DH also picked his safe favorite, Linguine with crab meat. The five of us also shared a Pizza Margherita.

Miss K always loved Gnocchi with Porcini Mushroom and Cream sauce.

One of the specials of the day (or evening in this case) was Cod Fish and Miss P had it.  All were full and satisfied. It was a nice Sunday evening dinner.

Pasta Dishes They Have....

When I go to any Italian restaurants, I try to stay away from pasta. But my family members seem to be drawn to them. DH and our two kids picks for their lunch at La Nonna yesterday were also pasta dishes.

Miss P had Spinach Fettuccine with Prawn in Saffron Cream Sauce.

The above is Linguini pasta with Crab Meat in Tomato Cream Sauce with fresh Basil, DH's selection.

Miss K decided to have Gnocchi with cream sauce and lemon zest and Dark Chocolate Tart with Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert. Yum, isn't it?

Going For Third!

Our last dinner in San Francisco was at Scala's Bistro (again), we just could not help it. It was our third time there. DH had his eyes on linguine since the first time we went to the restaurant and he finally he had what he wanted, Linguine with Clams. After some consideration, I decided on having Pan Roasted Chicken Breast. Both of us were happy with our choice and it's time to go home, back to Singapore. That's it folks!

Sarducci's All Over Again

In the summer 0f 2004, back when the kids were younger and much easier to deal with wink, we had a road trip in the eastern part of the USA. We were on the way to Montreal from Boston and had a stop for lunch at Sarducci's, an Italian restaurant in Montpelier, Vermont. Years later, we still remember the place and when we got the opportunity to visit it again, we sure did.

The place is pretty much looks the same, the menu looked mostly similar too, if our memory serves us right. Just the three of us this time, instead of five, but we ordered quite a bit for old time sake....

Delicious white bread.

Pizza with cheese and wild mushrooms.

K's special request, Caesar Salad with tons of grated parmesan cheese. Healthier choice!

Calamari Fritti:
Tender deep fried squid with a spicy marinara sauce.

K's Pollo al Forno: Penne with smoked chicken, parmesan, mozzarella, gorgonzola, portobello mushrooms, purple onions, mozzarella.

I barely eat pasta. My oder: Sword Fish with asparagus.

Linguine al Pescatore: Sea scallops, mussels and shrimp in a white wine, marinara and garlic sauce.

DH mistakenly ordered Linguine al Pescatore, when in fact he wanted to have Fettuccine Alfredo del Mare. Upon realizing that he didn't get what he had in mind, he ordered the one he wished to have and replaced the fettuccine with linguine.

After all these foods, again, we hardly have space for any desserts. eek
