Chia Pudding Breakfast

Being back home means that I can have homemade Chia pudding, which is so easy to make. I had it with granola and goji berries as well as cut up papaya. On the side, I also had more fresh fruit. Healthy breakfast was served.

German Pancake

It's a light and big pancake that is nice to eat with fresh fruit and share with the whole family. I like to have some maple syrup or powdered sugar on top. Either one, it's equally yummy.

Hui Lau San, Before Departing

Hui Lau San is a dessert place in Hong Kong that can be found in many places in the area. Their mango desserts have become one of our family's favorites and we normally have them again (after having some in the city) before we leave the country. These are from the shop at the airport.

Lunch at Scala's Bistro

DH and I had lunch at Scala's Bistro, San Francisco, after having dinner there a couple of nights earlier. We requested a  table by the window and we got it. The place was very quiet when we got there, it was still quite early for lunch. I like it that we were seated in a place that is bright and able to take nicer pictures. I had Chicken Roulade (below) this time and DH tried the Pan fried Halibut that I had earlier for dinner. A little too tasty, but overall, it was quite an enjoyable meal.

Paris Baguette, Berkeley

We took BART to Berkeley and got off at Downtown Berkeley station and Paris Baguette was the first thing we saw.  While waiting for our event to begin, we had cappuccino and tried a couple of their pastries. It certainly is better than nothing at all, it's nice to have something that we are quite familiar in a place that we visit.

Steel-Cut Oats Breakfast

It's always nice to be home after a long trip away and to be able to prepare a comfort breakfast on my own again. This one is warm steel-cut oats with bananas, kiwi, dried figs and mixed berries, sprinkled with granola and cocoa nibs.

Ayam Penyet Ria

It's my second time eating at Ria, this time we tried Ria at Far East Plaza, with DH. I normally had their Ayam Penyet for takeaway so this was my first time having it there. DH chose Fried Carp with Rice. Thier chilli is the best part of the whole meal.

Las Vegas In Three Days

We looked for good places to have breakfast, lunch and dinner, since we do not gamble. We had two shows to watch during the two evenings we were there, Le Reve - The Dream and Michael Jackson One. Here are some pictures taken when we were there.

SF Street Food Festival

It was  Friday, two days after we arrived in San Francisco. This beautiful city had its Annual Street Food Festival and we did not want to miss it. We took BART to the nearest station to Mission street where the festival took place.

The street was quite packed with people and long lines were formed in many of the vendors. We were discouraged by the length of the queue and opted for shorter ones. I got myself fish  taco while Miss K got a cup of fish ceviche. DH got himself Udon (no picture, sadly!) and very yummy corn.

Crystal Jade La Mian, GWC

We returned to Crystal Jade La Mian after church in July and picked our favorites from the menu. The place was packed as always on Sunday evenings. We had a satisfactory meal, although I never like being sitting so close to other people in the restaurant.

Lunch At Ujong, Raffles Hotel

Ujong restaurant was recently opened at Raffles Hotel and we made the time to try their food back in June. Just the two of us so we did not have too many to order. I had Nasi Lemak with Chicken above and DH had Bak Chor Mee using tagliatelle with five spice pork.

For dessert, we shared their Shendol Delight, which was Coconut Pannacota with Gula Melaka syrup and red bean ice cream and some chendol.

Brunch At Wild Honey, Scotts Square

Miss K and I went for brunch after my doctor appointment one Friday, a few weeks ago. We went to Wild Honey at Scotts Square. Wild Honey is known to offer all day breakfast.

Miss K's choice was Norwegian. Two poached eggs with Norwegian smoked salmon on brioche with asparagus in between and Hollandaise sauce.  It looked beautiful and tasted delicious too. I knew that because, the plate was wiped clean by the end of our brunch.

Mine was baked Portobello mushroom and poached eggs on brioche with Hollandaise sauce with spinach in between. The portion was too big for me but they tasted good too.
