Dinner At Sawaddee

This was in Providence, in the evening upon our arrival in Providence area after a long jammed drive from Princeton. We headed to another Thai restaurant to have our Pad Thai No 7 (Yay!!!!!) in a truly tiny Thai restaurant.

We ordered our usuals again (yes, we are just boring!), Pad Thai, Green Thai Chicken Curry and Vegetables. The food was authentic, the fish cakes were good and the Pad Thai was reasonably great as well. K enjoyed a nice dessert of mango and sticky rice.

Lunch At Paragon

Before we left for New York from Providence last week, we had lunch at a cafe restaurant on Thayer Street in the Brown University neighborhood. Miss L had a dinner there the night before and she really liked the food there. She recommended us to try their Calamari. The prices were reasonable, the atmosphere was fine, but our table was so cramped, it was so hard for any of us to settle in and out without disturbing the table next to ours, even the waitress had a hard time serving us.

We liked the food in general, but the size of food was a little too much for all of us.

Skip-Skip Fast Forward

I have to do some skipping and fast forwarding of our trip before writing more of things we have done and witnessed, because there has been way too many things took place and I hardly had enough time to update.

To sum up the past days, we left Hershey to Princeton via beautiful Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania.


We took a drive and had some look at beautiful Princeton University and yes, it is an excellent university!!! We left Princeton the next morning and drove to New Haven and went to Yale University before driving a crazy jammed drive to Providence. The traffic was absolutely slow and we were extremely exhausted.

Providence

Yesterday, we toured around Brown University before we picked up Miss L after not seeing her in three weeks. Her class was scheduled to finish at 12 and she has informed the party concerned that she would clear everything by 12:40. We then had a great lunch at the restaurant that she picked and afterwards, with the car full of our luggages, headed to New York. To our surprise, the traffic towards New York was much smoother. The hotel that we got, however, just utterly awful! New York!

As of this morning, we have driven more than 3600 miles, we flew from JFK to Orlando and arrived in the afternoon. Everything went well, we landed safely and got another Ford Explorer that appears to be well taken care of. Now, we are enjoying Orlando, an exciting place to be in. Really really truly enjoyable! We all are having a great time.

3000 Miles And On

Our dear Ford Explorer.

We were in the car on the way to Longwood Gardens, Pennsylvania, when the meter of the car passed 3000 miles. The car has been good and is doing well, so are we. We are tired, maybe the car is too. We spent two nights in Hershey and were on the way to Princeton, New Jersey.

We are right on schedule as we will be heading back to Providence tomorrow to pick up our dear Miss L. We have been on the road for 19 days and still have 11 more days to go. A few hundred miles will be added before we fly to Orlando. Miss P is still in South Africa, having the privilege to teach children over there and learning a very valuable life lesson. The day after tomorrow we will be in New York again and get ready for Florida......

Pack, unpack and repack. We have been doing them so much lately.

Big Small Lunch Salad

We found The Cheesecake Factory here in Providence Mall and decided to have lunch over there yesterday. It was just a short walk of four long buildings, maybe around 10 minute-walk from our hotel.

Absolutely impressive menu selection, everyone seemed to be quite pleased with what we could have. Without any fight, everyone agreed on quesadilla for appetizer. I love them, especially the guacamole.



Deciding on trying to stay on the healthier side as much as possible, I ordered a small caesar salad while everyone else order pasta and pizza. Then came our order and a big surprise to all of us seeing a gigantic size of the salad. With much effort, I was only able to finish about 1/4 of the serving, my companies had to struggle to finish theirs too. Every year, we have to be reminded of a very a good lesson of serving size in the USA.



Boo hoo, I felt so bad that I wasted so much food. We'll try to order so much less next time. Maybe just the appetizer size will be more than enough.

Providence Update

Finally, we are here, in Providence, some 32 hours or so after leaving home. We took a longer route via Frankfurt because we wanted not only to have a break from too long trip, but also to ensure that we arrive at JFK, New York in the morning so that we would be able to drive to Providence during the day.

Miss L has been settled in Brown U. See her in three weeks!
My two companies are asleep at 6PM..... jetlag, people.... jetlag.........
