Breakfast In Holderness

I like the name Holderness, it gives me some sense of peace for some reason, I am not sure why. On the day we had to leave, we had breakfast prepared by the innkeepers. The menu that morning was mix fruit, orange juice, French toast with orange cream filling and maple syrup and bacon, of course.

The Common Man

The Inn we stayed at, provided menu from some restaurants nearby for dinner. DH & K looked at them diligently before we left and jointly decided to have dinner at The Common Man. Yours truly had no preference and was more than happy not to have to look at those small letters on the menu.



For starters, we ordered a crab cake and flat bread topped with bacon cheese and some other ingredients that I can't remember anymore.






DH's dinner was roast chicken with mashed potatoes.


K & I shared apple chicken with baked potato.

We did a great job with the starters but failed to clean up our dinner well, again.
By the time we finished eating, we had no space for dessert anymore.



By the way, their margarita is yum!

Squam Lake Inn

We finally arrived safely at this little Inn, not far from Squam Lake on Shepard Hill Road, in the village of Holderness, New Hampshire, after being severely misled into someone else's home by our GPS tracking system. (Dang!)

Boston College

We left Providence On Tuesday morning to head to Maine. On the way, as planned, we stopped by at Boston College to check around. It is indeed a prestigious college with nearly 15,000 students from all around the world. It would be excellent to have a chance to get education here. The campus is beautiful and green, there were some campus tours being organized when we were there, as the case, in the summer.

Big Small Lunch Salad

We found The Cheesecake Factory here in Providence Mall and decided to have lunch over there yesterday. It was just a short walk of four long buildings, maybe around 10 minute-walk from our hotel.

Absolutely impressive menu selection, everyone seemed to be quite pleased with what we could have. Without any fight, everyone agreed on quesadilla for appetizer. I love them, especially the guacamole.



Deciding on trying to stay on the healthier side as much as possible, I ordered a small caesar salad while everyone else order pasta and pizza. Then came our order and a big surprise to all of us seeing a gigantic size of the salad. With much effort, I was only able to finish about 1/4 of the serving, my companies had to struggle to finish theirs too. Every year, we have to be reminded of a very a good lesson of serving size in the USA.



Boo hoo, I felt so bad that I wasted so much food. We'll try to order so much less next time. Maybe just the appetizer size will be more than enough.

Better Meals On Board

Put some extra thousand dollars and you got some better looking, better presented and better tasting food. Of course, you got more space, better service and are able to rest better especially when you fly for almost 20 hours. Good old bodies really appreciate the five digits paid for better treatment, oops.... I should say, all the better things in life!

Fresh Fruit Mix

I can't remember how many times the flight attendant and I exchanged "thank you" and "you're welcome". Money (still) talks! Courtesy still is my priority! We all are human being and appreciation is highly regarded.

Greenland (?) From Above

We flew over to New York from Frankfurt -und Ich glaube- and I believe, I saw Greenland from above. I thought it's interesting to be able to see the snow cap really clearly from where I was (on the plane). It was sunny and cloudless at that time.

Providence Update

Finally, we are here, in Providence, some 32 hours or so after leaving home. We took a longer route via Frankfurt because we wanted not only to have a break from too long trip, but also to ensure that we arrive at JFK, New York in the morning so that we would be able to drive to Providence during the day.

Miss L has been settled in Brown U. See her in three weeks!
My two companies are asleep at 6PM..... jetlag, people.... jetlag.........

Seven Hours To Go

So, we (I!!!!) have been packing, packing, packing and cleaning and cleaning and washing, more washing and more cleaning up and continue working on whatever needs to be done. My head is spinning mad!!!! I did manage to bake some little carrot cakes yesterday and two loaves of cheese breads for my in-laws, this morning. It's such an easy cake to make, but I dislike shredding the carrots as I get cuts most of the time from doing it too fast.

Lots of multi-tasking was done, I was baking, surfing the net, read through my emails, scanning pictures, preparing birthday card for Miss K and I can't remember what else I did and suddenly, bam! It's late afternoon. Just gazillions things to accomplish before we leave.

Our flight is ten minutes to midnight, it's driving me crazy to wait so long for the time to arrive and certainly a challenge to stay awake until the boarding time. Yawn.......... Packing never gets done until you are force to leave!
