I like to buy Strawberry when they are inexpensive. When they are at their regular price here, I feel they are over-priced. I saw some strawberries on sale yesterday and I bought four small punnets. I did not have any plans what to do with them. I don't like eating them just like that because I know they are not sweet enough for me. Aside from storing them in the freezer for future use, I made a Strawberry Galette today.
Nothing spectacular here, the crust is the normal pie crust and the filling is cut up strawberries, mixed with sugar and flour. I brushed some egg wash on the crust and sprinkled some sugar on top for prettier effect. Bake til golden. Done!
