Dewey Monument

Union Square in San Francisco was such a busy area that sometimes I forgot to look at what's standing right in the middle. There's a monument, Dewey Monument, standing tall day in and day out. The monument was dedicated by President Theodore Roosevelt on May 14, 1903 to commemorate Commodore Dewey's victory over the Spanish fleet in the Philippines.
