Little Fiesta In The Dark Time

We survived the first seven weeks of school. Two more to go before the break and things out there seem to be gloomier than ever. It was Black Monday all over again, stock markets in Asia tumbled down, dived, fell... whatever you call it.... It's just bad, bad and bad, it is absolutely depressing for the people in the various sectors involved directly or indirectly. I clearly see it from the 5-minute delay reaction and constant dark cloud hanging above DH when I talked to him today. He is ultimately so concerned about the situation. Who is not? I could not do much more that I did to keep the situation under control. The gigantic trouble has now spread and affected European institutions too..... Even the $700b rescue plan has not seemed to work its magic yet! It's truly frightening to think of the dents and damaged resulted this whole situation.

We still have to eat, even in the dark times. Started with freshly baked home-made bread with balsamic vinegar and Olive Oil and followed by oven-baked asparagus seasoned with salt and Olive Oil to accompany our Monday dinner.

Inspired by Rachael Ray, I baked chicken with lemon and basil, served with baked gnocchi with cheese sauce. Superb dinner, at least it managed to distract DH's mind from thinking about the stock market for a few minutes. sad
